15 Things to Freshen Up Your Space That Won't Break the Bank - Bedroom

Interior styling can greatly change the way you feel about your space. We often see how faces light up with light intervention and changes made by designers. But we cannot always afford to hire a designer to revamp our space. Therefore, I've put together a list of things that are doable and can very beautifully add a wonderful designer touch to your space.

1. Rearrange your furniture : A simple change in furniture placement can transform the look and feel of your bedroom.

2. Add some plants : Plants can add a touch of freshness and color to any space. Choose low-maintenance plants like succulents or snake plants that can thrive in low light conditions.

3. Swap out your bedding : A new duvet cover or sheet set can breathe new life into your bedroom without breaking the bank.

4. Hang some art : Adding some wall art or a gallery wall can make your bedroom feel more personalized and visually appealing.

5. Get new throw pillows : Changing out your throw pillows can add a pop of color or pattern to your bed or seating area.

6. Add some texture : A cozy throw blanket, a fluffy rug, or some decorative pillows can add texture and warmth to your space.

7. Declutter : A cluttered bedroom can feel cramped and chaotic. Take some time to declutter and organize your space. The first and foremost rule to follow is taking out all the unnecessary clutter. Start with sections and decide on letting go of things that aren't of use to you. The general rule stated by Marie Kondo is "the things that you haven't used for over a year or two are the things that you don't need now". One more way to decide is by keeping the stuff that sparks joy.

8. Rearrange your shelves : Once you have cleared everything, designate fixed places for each element in your room i.e., give them a home of their own and give them enough space to breathe as well. Display your favorite books, photos, or decor in a new way by rearranging your shelves.

9. Upgrade your lighting : Swapping out your light fixtures or adding some string lights can create a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

10. Hang some curtains : Next, we can move onto the curtains. You can choose long curtains that seamlessly flow and neatly end 2" above the floor level. You can have double layered curtains - white transparent curtain for the day and heavy fabric on the sides to cover the windows at night. Hanging curtains can add privacy and warmth to your space. Choose curtains that complement your decor and let in plenty of natural light.

11. Create a focal point : Adding a statement piece, such as a large piece of art or a statement headboard, can create a focal point and give your bedroom some personality.

12. Paint an accent wall : A fresh coat of paint can transform a room. Consider painting an accent wall in a bold color or pattern.

13. Hang a mirror : A well-placed mirror can make a small bedroom feel larger and brighter.

14. Add some fragrance : A scented candle or diffuser can add a pleasant aroma and create a relaxing atmosphere.

15. Add a good carpet : A good carpet is often overlooked when designing a space. Well, why should do that? Choose a neutral shade carpet (light brown, beige or light grey) with amazing texture or pattern that adds more detail to the floor area. Carpets always brings together pieces of furniture and adding one to the bedroom helps add dynamic detail and also making the bed feel more connected with the room rather than feel like a loose piece of furniture. Our goal is to make each signature piece and things feel more at home themselves and honored and well treated for.
